Castellammare
|
Castellammare translates from Italian meaning "Castle by the Sea". It is located where Sunset Boulevard meets Pacific Coast Highway. It is thought that the original developers named the area based on the first lot purchased by Leon Kaufman, who built Villa de Leon in 1921. This is the mansion on the bluffs, often mistaken as the Getty residence of the Getty Villa, it's next door neighbor. This charming, seaside neighborhood is reminiscent to the Amalfi coast in Italy. With stunning ocean views, tiny winding streets, and Italian street names, this neighborhood is loved by anyone who loves ocean views and fresh air. There is a feeling of privacy atop the bluff. Neighbors host block parties throughout the year. Homes in this area range from tiny villas to a handful of brand new estates. Prices range from just under a million for smaller homes, and to up to multi-million for newer homes and larger estates.
